All week, News 12 has brought viewers multiple stories about the Peacock’s magical run in the NCAA Tournament. At the same time, Brian Donohue was searching to find the ultimate St. Peter’s fan who has stood by the team long before it became the ultimate bandwagon.

That person just happens to be his dad. Bill Donohue, 83, St. Peter’s class of 1958 and a regular at games ever since.

“It’s been fun. It's been total, total fun,” he said. “Ever day's a miracle.”

He was at the famous “Run Baby Run” game at Madison Square Garden in 1968 and took his kids to the Yanitelli Center for games (now known as “Run Baby Run Arena on the St. Peter’s campus).

And after years of hounding Brian for more Peacocks coverage in the state – the day has finally come. For Bill, it’s still not enough.

“We have to win three impossible games to get any publicity. Nobody talks about them. Nobody. All year long. Nobody talked about them until this. Where were they?” he asked.

St. Peter's averaged about 500 people at its games this year, a far cry from the '50s and '60s when thousands would regularly pack the Jersey City Armory for games.
