The Bone Museum is the largest collection of real human bones on display on the East Coast. Its mission is to make osteology, the study of bones, accessible to the public.
The museum is located at 255 McKibbin St.
Most of the bones are donated. Before they go on display, a team of anthropologists analyzes each one to ensure none are linked to grave robbing, archaeological sites or indigenous remains.
Since the museum opened two years ago, its collection has grown extensively.
The collection includes bones from the smallest to the tallest humans, as well as historical specimens dating back centuries.
No bones about it, the museum offers an unusual but educational experience for anyone interested in the human skeleton.
