Despite the rainy weather, the wet and steamy morning commute for Bronx straphangers went without a hitch Friday.
Many were worried with the heavy rain there would be a repeat of problems similar to the ones during Wednesday?s storm. The MTA brought in extra staff and equipment to better prepare the subway system for the wet weather.
Meanwhile, the MTA?s executive director announced a possible rebate for Bronx riders from Wednesday?s problems. However, it is still unclear how the MTA would set them up.
Some riders say a rebate wouldn?t be enough. They feel the MTA should provide better service regardless of the weather.
The MTA has appointed a task force of transportation officials and outside experts to assess and identify service problems to make sure they don?t happen again.
