According to the Coalition for the Homeless, the number of Bronx and city residents living on the streets is at an all-time high.
The group?s seventh annual report finds the number of people sleeping in city shelters each night has skyrocketed to more than 32,000. The report also finds that 11,000 of those people are children.
The group is now calling for action to reduce homelessness in the Bronx and city. The report recommends stopping the reduction of rent to formerly homeless families and allow the working poor and disabled to get the reduced rates.
