Nurses united to honor health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic and to also demand more help.
About 75 nurses raised awareness on a united front and continued to demand for personal protective equipment to keep healthcare workers safe as they deal with COVID-19 patients.
Nurses across the country and state have been left scrounging for protective gear like masks and gloves since March.
Some have even resorted to wearing garbage bags to shield themselves from the virus.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday that the city is now self-sufficient in producing face shields, but nurses say they have not been treated fairly.
The mayor also says that five New York-based companies are producing 30,000 surgical gowns per week.
