The New York City Department of Sanitation is showing off some of its eco-friendly efforts at the New York International Auto Show in Manhattan.
Ignazio Terranova showed News 12 one of the department's brand-new, electric hybrid mechanical brooms. There are 14 total in a fleet of 435 that are currently servicing the city.
Terranova says DSNY is looking to add more of the electric hybrids to its fleet and that they are always looking toward new technologies for improvements.
The show runs through April 8.
