The New York Latino Film Festival is back, with in-person screenings that feature over 100 works for the kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The film festival is set to have 105 different films from 10 different countries. Last year’s festival was held as a drive-in experience due to COVID-19 limitation, but this year’s screenings will be held at the Regal Union Square Theater.
The festival will show feature-length films, short films, documentaries and web series from Latino filmmakers like Brooklyn native Djali Brown-Cepeda.
Brown-Cepeda’s work aims to highlight the efforts of undocumented workers to pass the Excluded Workers’ Fund.
Bronx-based filmmaker Elyssa Aquino will be premiering her short film about a conflicted love story set in the Dominican Republic.
The festival runs until Sunday and will finish with a free block party held in Washington Heights. Click here for more information
