As the country prepares for the unprecedented circumstances surrounding Wednesday's transfer of power, security is stepped up across the nation.
Law enforcement isn't taking any chances when it comes to more potential threats of violence, including in Albany.
Currently there are no signs of protests at the state capital, yet security is heightened. Barricades surround the building with an enhanced police presence.
State police officers are constantly patrolling the perimeter and even questioning some passersby who are walking in the green space.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo will not go to Washington D.C. and will stay in New York for the inauguration.
Other state lawmakers aren’t going anywhere, either - they are scheduled to be in session.
