9h agoSeveral 9/11 first responders from New York City are heading to Washington, D.C. today to fight for more funding for the World Trade Center Health Program.
The program was established in 2015 to help those who got sick from toxic dust from the terror attacks on Sept. 11. Some lawmakers and advocates say the program is facing a $2 billion shortfall because of inflation and high enrollment.
John Feal of the Feal Good Foundation and Tom Wilson, who was an NYPD sergeant during 9/11, say they are ready to battle for funding for other first responders who are sick and dying.
There are currently more than 122,000 first responders and survivors enrolled in the program.
