? A New York City police officer is fighting for his life in the hospital after a fellow officer shot him in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity. Officer Eric Hernandez has undergone his second operation.Investigators say a veteran cop shot 24-year-old Hernandez while he was off-duty at a Bronx White Castle Saturday. Police say Hernandez was waiting in line when he got into a fight with six other men inside the restaurant; it later spilled out to the parking lot. Responding officers say they fired three shots at Hernandez because they saw him pointing a gun at someone on the ground. Hernandez was injured in the leg and abdomen.Mayor Michael Bloomberg questions why Hernandez did not show responding officers his badge.
