? MTA officials spent some time in the hot seat Thursday at a City Council hearing about whether the agency is doing its best to keep straphangers safe from potential terror threats.

City Council Transportation Committee Chair John Liu said the MTA does not appear to be treating the danger with urgency. Some transit workers agree, saying the video they watched and the pamphlet they were given is not enough training to know how to handle a terror threat. However, the MTA says it has already begun upgrades as part of a multi-million dollar plan to install motion sensors and cameras.

The City Council plans to hold more hearings in the future to monitor the MTA?s progress on keeping Bronx residents and others safe on the subway.
