A new law goes into effect in New York City today that will make jobs ads provide a salary range.
New York City will now require employers with four or more employees, with at least one of them working in the city, to provide a salary range in all of their job ads.
The initiative will give those job seekers a much better understanding on what employers are willing to pay.
A similar law is being applied to California beginning Jan. 1 for employers with at least 15 workers.
