Mayor Bill de Blasio says the next step in the recovery of New York City is to bring tourism back.
He announced the city is launching at $30 million tourism marketing campaign "to bring back the tourists and to bring back all that they do to invest in this city, and bring back the jobs."
The mayor says he is expecting the effort to bring around 400,000 jobs to the city.
According to de Blasio, this is the largest tourism campaign in the history of the city with the bulk of the money going to help boost hotels, restaurants, taxis, the arts, entertainment and more.
"This is the way to show the world New York City is back," he says
