A celebration Saturday marked 667 days since NYCHA's Mitchel Houses fell victim to gun violence.

Residents say it is all due to the work of the Bronx Community Justice Center.

During the almost two-year span, the group has hosted programs to bring together the community and allow young people to stay active.

A resident of Mitchel houses since the 1960s and says the programs have made her community a much safer place than when she was growing up there.
