Police say a dog was snatched from the arms of its owner last week while they were on a walk in East Williamsburg.

They say that the dog owner was approached by three unknown people, and one of the individuals tackled him into a fire hydrant causing slashes in his back, right knee and left arm. They then demanded money from the victim and when he said he didn't have any, the individuals forcibly removed his dog.

The individuals were last seen fleeing into 120 Humboldt Street.

The dog is described as a 12-year-old black and brown female chihuahua/terrier mix named Mango.
