Police say a 14-year-old is recovering after he was viciously attacked and robbed by a group of people in Crotona Park Wednesday.
They say the assault at the corner of Southern Boulevard and East 174th Street, just across the street from a local school, was caught on camera.
The incident happened right around the time school was dismissed.
The victim was walking when police say a group of unknown individuals approached the teen and asked him where he was from.
At first in the video, only two people and the victim are seen. As the attack continues, more people join in punching, kicking and even stomping on the teen.
Police have not identified how many suspects were involved in this attack, but at one point in the video, at least six people can be seen.
The video appears to show one of the attackers snatching the victim's cell phone before the group takes off, leaving the teenager curled up in a ball on the sidewalk.
Investigators say he was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken nose.
Police are now asking for the public's help with identifying the people responsible for the attack. They are asking anyone who has any information to contact them.
