Police say two men were inside a makeshift recording studio at West 37th Street near Seventh Avenue.
The NYPD says a man in his 30s was shot in the head and the other victim was shot in the back.
The gunman was wearing gray sweatpants and was with three other men, authorities say. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
