Police say three people were hospitalized following a Friday stabbing and fall incident in the Bronx.
The NYPD says it responded to reports of an emotionally distressed man who barricaded himself inside of an apartment at 1812 Clay Ave. at 7 a.m.
When they arrived, they say they found the man with a self-inflicted stab wound to the chest, a 61-year-old woman who he slashed in the neck and an 88-year-old woman with injuries from an elevated fall.
“I came down and saw the lady on the floor. They told me that the son tried to kill the mother. She had three stab wounds, and he threw the grandmother from the window,” a neighbor told News 12.
Police have not confirmed the exact relationship between the suspect and the two women. Officers say the women are in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital while the man is in critical condition.
The suspect was also placed under police custody. It's unclear what led to the incident at this time.
