NYPD: 2 women shot in Fordham

Two women were shot along Fordham Road between the Grand Concourse and 188th Street, according to the NYPD.
Both women, 44 and 52 years old, suffered gunshot wounds to the leg just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Law enforcement officials confirmed that both women are in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital, and say the shooter was a man who was last seen fleeing southbound on Grand Concourse.
Neighbors in the area are describing the incident as a domestic violence dispute that took a turn for the worse, saying that people ran for cover in nearby businesses when the shots were fired.
The NYPD is unable to confirm any connections to a domestic dispute as the cause of the shooting at this time, and the incident is under investigation.
