Shocking video obtained by News 12 shows a man shooting what appears to be another man who was attacking him on Commonwealth Avenue in Soundview, near the corner of Westchester Avenue.

In the video, which was timestamped a little before 1 p.m., a man in a full sweatsuit is seen on the ground, while another man, who appears to be holding something sharp in one hand punches him, and another man kicks him.

That second man then takes out a cellphone, and sources tell News 12 that the entire altercation was being livestreamed.

After the first apparent attacker pins the man in the sweatsuit against the wall, he's seen reaching into his shirt and pulling out a gun, before firing four gunshots.

The first shot appears to hit the man who was pinning him between the shoulder blades.

While he falls to the ground, the other two men run off, before then shooter is seen walking back to see exactly what happened.

People in the area tell News 12 after that they saw him run off on Westchester Avenue toward the subway station.

Police say the man who was shot is 27 years old and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
