Shots fired as suspects fail to steal man’s necklace in University Heights

A 28-year-old man was fatally shot Monday inside a deli on Home Street in Morrisania, according to authorities.

Police say they found Daquan Andrews around 8:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

No suspects have been arrested.
