NYPD identifies 38-year-old woman who died in Williamsbridge house fire

An overnight house fire in Williamsbridge claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman, according to the FDNY.

The NYPD has identified the victim as Tracy Ann Douglas.

According to authorities, the flames erupted at 1126 East 212th St. at around 2 a.m.

Witnesses on the scene told News 12 they saw Douglas pulled out of her home. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition but did not survive her injuries.

The Department of Buildings tells News 12 that they have issued a full vacate order at the building that was on fire. They add that the latest complaint at the address was in 2019.

The FDNY has yet to determine the cause of the fire.
