A 57-year-old man is dead and a 34-year-old woman is in stable condition after police said they were shot Sunday evening in Fordham.

It happened shortly before 7 p.m. on East 188th Street near Webster Avenue.

Police said the man was shot in the head and the woman was shot in the leg.

Both victims were taken to the hospital.

Darleky Mena, an employee at a restaurant nearby, told News 12 she heard six or seven gunshots and locked the door. She said the male victim was a customer who had just ordered food an hour before he was shot.

“When we went out and saw that was the guy, we got surprised,” she said. “People started coming to the restaurant running, so that’s why we closed the door.”

Police had not released the victims’ names as of Sunday night.

Officials said no arrests had been made, but sources shared cellphone video with News 12 that appears to show several teenagers in handcuffs.
