NYPD arrests suspect linked to death of teacher in Brooklyn hit-and-run
Police made an arrest Tuesday connected to a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn back in May 2021.
Police have arrested 30-year-old Tariq Witherspoon, of Brooklyn, in connection to the death P.S. 110 teacher Matthew Jensen. Witherspoon has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene, reckless endangerment and driving, and a speed violation.
Jensen, 58, was hit by a Rolls Royce while crossing the street and was found with severe injuries on Bayard Street and McGuinness Boulevard.
FDNY says Witherspoon served in Brooklyn as an FDNY EMT for 11 years and has been suspended without pay.
