The NYPD planned a special event in the Bronx on Friday, where they honored fathers at a fun social gathering.
For many people, it was their first time at a large gathering in over a year.
It was a chance to dance, eat, drink, listen to live music and receive a free helmet or haircut, as 100 were given away for free.
Thanks to a special truck that the NYPD filled with large televisions, children were able to play some of the latest video games.
A Bronx detective was able to secure money for the party, by applying for and winning a grant from the New York City Police Foundation.
During the event, fathers were honored as hometown heroes who made a difference during the pandemic.
