Lifelong Brooklynite and NYPD detective Steven Litwin officially retired after forty years of service to the 71st Precinct and New York City.
Litwin joined the NYPD in 1981.
He followed in his father's footsteps and worked all over Brooklyn, especially in the 71st precinct, special victims unit, and for the past nine years, the cold case squad.
Colleagues, family and friends packed the room Wednesday sharing stories and thanking Litwin for his four decades of service.
Litwin leaves this advice for his sisters and brothers in blue: "Keep going, be good to each other, back each other up, be good to people, be kind and do your best and be careful."
