Police identify driver killed in Webster Avenue hit-and-run

Officers say the incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 168th Street and Webster Avenue.

Police have identified the man killed in a hit-and-run Sunday as 45-year-old Robert Godwin. 
Officers say the incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of 168th Street and Webster Avenue.  
News 12 was told by police Godwin was driving when he was hit by a Chevy Traverse. He sustained injuries to his neck and body and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.  
Officers say the driver of the Chevy abandoned his car and fled the scene on foot.
