Thousands of children filled Van Cortlandt Park Tuesday for some summertime fun with the city's finest.
Organizers say thousands of kids come to the annual Harmony Day from summer programs across the borough, and the officers from precincts in the kids' neighborhoods.
They say the goal of the event is to improve the relationships between police and kids, as well as allowing kids to see officers in a different light.
The event included food, games, face painting, sports and the chance to dunk a police officer.
Harmony Day has been held for more than 30 years.
