Fallen officers were honored Friday during the NYPD’s K-9 Police Force graduation at Floyd Bennett Field.

Many of the dogs will carry on their legacies with names after fallen NYPD heroes, like Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, and detectives Miosotis Familia, Russel Timoshenko, Steven McDonald, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Lius.

"Steven loved dogs, and I was not raised with a dog so I became a dog lover through Steven,” says his wife, Patricia McDonald “So, to have a dog named after him is beautiful. Steven would be so happy to know that a dog was named after him."
