Police say they're searching for a man who brought a young child with him to steal packages from a Kingsbridge Heights apartment on Dec. 26.

Surveillance video appears to show the man motion to the child to keep quiet, and check to see if anyone is in the hallway around 4:30 p.m. The video shows him walking away and coming back with packages in his hand.

The child is seen apparently pointing to a package in front of another apartment. Residents who live in the building say they don't believe the man lives there.

Police tell News 12 they're investigating, saying in a statement, "There is a complaint report on file for petit larceny on the date and location that you provided. There are no arrests and this is an ongoing investigation. There is no additional information at this time."
