Police have identified the man who was fatally shot in the chest in Melrose on Tuesday morning as 38-year-old Victor Bautista.

Citizen App video shows an EMT on the scene giving CPR to Bautista on the sidewalk outside of a bodega on Trinity Avenue between Pontiac Place and East 149th Street.

Officers believe an argument led up to the shooting.

News 12 saw a BMW M5 getting towed away from the scene, but it is unclear how, if at all, the vehicle is connected to Bautista's death.

Family and friends of Bautista were at the scene, including members of anti-gun violence group Save Our Streets, who say Bautista’s brother was one of their organizers.

Police are still looking for the shooter, who is believed to have last been seen wearing a green vest resembling a construction worker.
