NYPD: Man on 1 train tracks with imitation gun shot by police

A 911 call came in reporting a man with a firearm inside the station just before 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Police officers shot a man armed with an imitation firearm who was on the tracks inside of the Broadway 238th Street 1 train subway station, according to the NYPD.  
A 911 call came in reporting a man with a firearm inside the station just before 8 p.m. on Thursday. 
Police say they encountered the man on the subway tracks, and that he displayed his imitation gun at police before they shot him. The suspect was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. 
Video taken by a restaurant employee shows a man walking on the train tracks with a fake gun raised. In the video, police can be heard asking the man to put it down, and firing shots after he did not comply. The suspect was handcuffed and walked off of the platform.
