NYPD: Man riding scooter dies after Brooklyn crash

Police say a man who was riding a scooter has died after he was struck by a car in Bensonhurst on Saturday.

Police say a man who was riding a scooter has died after he was struck by a car in Bensonhurst on Saturday.
Police say 22-year-old Qiu Rifeng was riding his scooter down the sidewalk of 74th Street where he collided with a Kia sedan. Due to the impact of the crash, he flew off of the scooter and hit the car windshield, shattering the glass before landing onto the pavement. 
The NYPD says the driver of the Kia was a 23-year-old man who was driving southbound on 18th Avenue. The driver remained on scene and was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
