Police are searching for a man in connection to a vicious baseball bat attack in University Heights.

Police say the suspect approached a 37-year-old man on July 6 at the intersection of Aqueduct Avenue and West 183rd Street and hit him over the head with a bat and then ran off.

The victim suffered a laceration and bruising to his head and was brought to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

It's unclear why the attack happened. The suspect fled and is still on the loose.
