NYPD: Motorcycle crash leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

A motorcycle crash that took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx has left one person dead and two people injured, according to the NYPD.  
Investigators say the motorcycle lost control at the corner of Pelham Parkway and Williamsbridge Road at around 4:30 p.m., striking a 72-year-old woman as she crossed the street. The woman died at the scene.  
The motorcycle flew down the road and ended up in front of a Bx12 bus stop on Allerton Avenue, shattered into pieces.  
Police say a 17-year-old girl was also struck while standing on a nearby sidewalk and is expected to survive. The driver, a 44-year-old man, was injured and is expected to be OK. 
The NYPD says they still do not know what caused the crash.
