An NYPD officer is recovering after he was stabbed in the neck while on duty in Brooklyn.
Police responded to a call of emotionally disturbed person inside of 5213 6th Ave. Wednesday afternoon. There they say officers spoke with 29-year-old Marielee Jimenez, who was acting erratically.
Authorities say Jimenez lunged at the officers with a cutting tool and stabbed one of officers in the neck, causing a puncture wound.
The officer was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.
Jimenez was arrested and charged with assault, menacing, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon.
