A group of pro-Palestinian protesters was arrested after blocking parts of the Brooklyn Bridge on Monday, according to police.

The NYPD says that the protest caused severe road traffic and is part of a wider protest across the five boroughs in support of the Palestinians.

Traffic along the Brooklyn Bridge was back to normal operations following the protest this afternoon. Earth Cam shows protesters along the lower portion of the bridge with signs and colored smoke canisters.

Members of the NYPD moved the bulk of protesters off of the bridge portion where cars drive. Protesters later gathered in Downtown Brooklyn, and subway traffic is unaffected.

Police have detained some of the protesters, but the number of people detained is unknown at this time.
