        NYPD: Shooting near Bronx school sends man to hospital

        Authorities say a man who was shot walked into NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

        Police say a man was hospitalized as the result of a Monday morning shooting near a school in Morrisania.
        Officers were dispatched to Tinton and Westchester avenues after shots were fired around 8:20 a.m.
        Authorities say a man who was shot walked into NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, but the extent of his injuries is unknown. Police have also not released the identity or a description of the person or people who opened fire.
        It's unclear what led to the gunfire. No arrests have been made at this time.
        Neighbors who walked by the scene told News 12 the shooting is disheartening to learn about, especially since it happened right across the street from a school.
