The NYPD says a 1-year-old girl was found unconscious and unresponsive in a pool Friday afternoon at a day care called Anna's Butterfly Garden Family Group.

The child's parents, Ima and Ifiok Wilson, say her name is River Edima Wilson.

River was taken to Montefiore Hospital-Einstein where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine her cause of death.

Her parents say they fear the child was neglected and not cared for at the day care, demanding accountability and answers.

"She had scratches on her face. She had bruises on her face. What happened to her?" her mother Ima said.

So far, no arrest have been made and sources say right now no criminality is suspected.

Outside of the day care, a memorial grows for the child. Items like flowers, white shoes and a children's bible were left outside.

"She was good. She was an angel. Came to his world to just bless us," her mother said.

News 12 reached out to the owner of the day care and is waiting to hear back.
