Police arrested a suspect in connection to the brutal stabbing of a Rockland County doctor, and investigators say the suspect is linked to several other killings.
The NYPD arrested 35-year-old Roland Codrington in the Bronx this weekend and charged him with murder for the death of 60-year-old Bruce Maurice Henry.
Henry was found dead in Marcus Garvey Park in Manhattan last Friday. He lived in the Bronx but practiced out of Nyack.
Police say Codrington repeatedly stabbed Henry after a verbal exchange.
The suspect was also charged for an assault at a bar in Manhattan. Police say he walked into Teddy's Bar And Grill with a pit bull and baseball bat.
Police say he started choking a female employee and stabbed two other people in the back and chest when they tried to intervene.
Officials say Crodrington thought he had been disrespected by employees at the bar a week earlier.
Codrington faces attempted murder, assault and weapons charges for that incident.
Police have also charged Codrington for the death of a 51-year-old man found unconscious and unresponsive with a cut to his neck on Dec. 19 near Union Square. The victim later died at the hospital.
Codrington is facing another murder and a weapons charge.
The killings come at a time of increased anxiety citywide over random violence. Mayor Eric Adams announced plans for authorities to more aggressively intervene to help people who need mental health treatment, including forcing individuals off streets and subways and into treatment.
AP Wire Services were used in the report.
