A man has been arrested for slashing a teen girl in the face in Williamsbridge last Friday.
Police say 41-year-old Joshua Lawyer approached the 16-year-old victim along White Plains Road and slashed her in the face, leaving her seriously injured.
Witnesses say it appeared to be a random attack. News 12 spoke to a good Samaritan who helped the victim when she showed up at his business while bleeding profusely.
Peter Gayle says he and a coworker put napkins on the victim’s injured face while they waited for the ambulance to arrive.
“What he did was not right and that was uncalled for,” he said. “Personally, I think he should be held accountable for what he did to that young lady because he scarred her for life now."
Authorities say Lawyer's charges include assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
