Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who broke into a Belmont store Thursday and stole $1,500 from the register.

Authorities say the suspect was captured on video using a brick to smash the window of Arthur Fashion’s front door just before 6 a.m.

The suspect then reached through the broken door, unlocked it, took the money from the register and fled the scene.

The man was last seen running down Hughes Avenue, according to police.

Authorities say he was wearing a bright colored shirt, a face mask and a hat at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
