A 70-year-old and a 71-year-old were hospitalized following a shooting Saturday night at Livonia Park in Brownsville.

Police say the 70-year-old man was shot in the left leg just before 10:30 p.m. The 71-year-old victim was also shot in the right leg and torso.

Both victims are in stable condition, according to authorities.

Residents told News 12 that the two victims were enjoying a barbeque when the gunfire rang out.

Authorities say the shooter is still at large. Anyone with information is urged to call police.

“This is an area where there's a lot of kids and elderly people around. It's just not safe. It's just not,” said Donna, a Brownsville resident.

Neighbors say they are frightened to walk in the area at night.

"I get off late at night and I have to think about things like that. It's scary. It makes you worry,” said Donna. “Something has to be done and I don't know what."
