Police say a 10-year-old Dachshund was stolen from a Longwood apartment building earlier in May.
According to police, two suspects entered the building at 975 Tiffany St. and stole the female Dachshund named Milkshake on May 4.
Milkshake's owner, Monica Montanez, is heartbroken.
"You think you love her, I love her more, she is mine," said Montanez, who hasn't seen her dog in three weeks. "It's just really dark, you feel kinda lost like you don't know where your baby is."
Montanez says she was throwing a birthday party for her son and that it was the first time that Milkshake was allowed out in the hallway to play with the kids. When they went to sing the happy birthday song later that evening, Milkshake was gone.
"We jumped into action and started searching the building... By 9 p.m. we were filing a police report, so next day we were posting fliers by the afternoon," said Montanez.
Police released surveillance video of the two people they believe left the building with the dog that night. Montanez says that she's seen one of those people before.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police.
