A phoned-in bomb threat at Cardinal Spellman High School Tuesday morning was deemed not credible by the NYPD.

Police said they checked the building after it was evacuated and found no evidence of a bomb.

Eight students had minor injuries during the evacuation, according to the NYPD. Students told News 12 that there was chaos inside the building with people running in the halls.

An email from the school to parents was sent at 11:05 a.m. that said, "your children are all safe."

"There was a threatening phone call that was received this morning, that the school took very seriously," the statement said. "The school was evacuated and we are outside on the field. We currently have law enforcement on the premises and are following their protocol."

The streets surrounding the school were reopened in the afternoon.
