NYPD: Woman fatally stabbed in neck, torso in Coney Island; suspect in custody
Police say a 50-year-old man is in custody following the fatal domestic violence stabbing of a woman early Tuesday morning in Brooklyn.
According to police, 50-year-old Michael Walston allegedly stabbed 40-year-old Shavonny White in the neck and torso inside a building at 2877 W. 20th St. at around 1:30 a.m.
The knife was recovered at the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital, where she died.
At this time, police believe the suspect is the victim's significant other, as both White and Walston are listed as residents at the address where the fatal stabbing took place.
Walston currently faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon and is in custody in the 60th Precinct.
