Video released today shows the heart-stopping moments where an officer and a good Samaritan rescued a man who fell onto subway tracks in the Bronx.
A sick straphanger lost consciousness and collapsed onto the tracks, according to a tweet by the NYPD. The video shows the man lying face down on the rails, unmoving.
That’s when an NYPD officer and a bystander jumped onto the tracks, video shows.
A group of people standing on the platform can be seen assisting the two in pulling the unconscious man to safety before helping the officer and other man off the tracks, just moments before the train arrives at the station.
News 12 has reached out to the NYPD for more information about the rescue.
