The first case of the omicron COVID-19 variant in New Jersey was confirmed to be a Georgia woman who recently traveled to South Africa.

The first case of the omicron COVID-19 variant in New Jersey was confirmed to be a Georgia woman who recently traveled to South Africa.
According to officials, she was in Georgia for two days before traveling to New Jersey.
She tested positive on Nov. 28 and has been in quarantine since. She is fully vaccinated, including given a booster shot.
Officials say she experienced moderate symptoms and was treated at a north Jersey hospital.
