Officials say the Van Cortland library will move to a new location and will get a major makeover.
Library officials have not yet confirmed the exact location, but state Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, who put money toward the project, says it will likely be on Cannon Place, a few blocks from the current site.
Members of the community say it's a much needed upgrade because of limited space at the current location. The new location would mean more seating, books, events and resources, officials say.
There is no set timeline yet, but Dinowitz says he hopes to have the new branch set up within the next couple of years.
