Officials lift Edison boil water advisory following E. coli contamination

A boil water advisory in Edison has been lifted after it was put into place earlier this week.
Some Edison residents were told to boil their drinking water after samples from the town’s water supply tested positive for E. coli – a bacteria that can make a person sick if they consume it.
Township officials emphasized that the alert was not related to the coronavirus.
The Edison Water Utility tested the water and determined that it is now safe to drink.
